EGT Probes Used In Marine Diesel Applications

Bio-Fuel Diesel Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Thermocouple Sensors for Marine Applications

Diesel engines are the backbone of marine operations, powering everything from main propulsion systems to auxiliary machinery and onboard power generation. In these critical roles, reliable sensor inputs are essential for monitoring performance, maximizing efficiency, and preventing catastrophic engine failures.

The Sensor Connection's Bio-Fuel Diesel EGT Probe is specifically engineered for marine diesel systems using a rugged and reliable Type K thermocouple. Marine environments are among the harshest on earth, subjecting components to extreme temperature cycling, pressure fluctuations, corrosive exhaust gases, saltwater, chemical exposure, and constant vibration. Our probes are built to withstand it all.

To ensure long-term durability and reliability, each probe features:

  • Inconel sheathing for high-temperature and corrosion resistance
  • Special MgO insulation that resists cracking and crumbling
  • FEP-insulated conductors (2 meters long), rated to 250°C
  • Stainless steel overbraid for added protection from vibration, abrasion, and sharp edges
  • 316 stainless steel compression fittings for excellent corrosion resistance

Available in both straight and 90-degree bend configurations, these probes are ideal for a wide range of onboard diesel engine applications, including propulsion systems, bilge pumps, cranes, conveyor systems, and cargo-handling equipment.
